The upgrade action executes the upgrade-agents workflow. That workflow runs as "Administrator", which is a built-in situate user. You need to add identities to the "Administrator" user so that user can login to XonaServer as well as any machines your trying to upgrade.

For UNIX, a "root" login is required.

For Windows, a this user must be a domain admin.

Then, your upgrade will work just fine.
